Weekly Wrap-Up (10.5.12)

A (Theoretical) Mass Knife Fight to the Death
In a mass knife fight to the death between every American President, who would win and why? I found this short article not only entertaining, but also incredibly educational. I like articles that make me laugh but also make me feel like I'm a little bit smarter when I finish reading them.

Funniest Auto-Corrects of 2011
Thanks to The Ellen Show, I'm now obsessed with text message auto-corrects (her weekly segment called Clumsy Thumbsy is hysterical) and seek them out on the internet whenever I need a good laugh. This list of the Funniest Auto-Corrects of 2011 certainly delivers, but you should know ahead of time that many of the auto-corrects are rated PG...it turns out auto-correct often turns perfectly clean and innocent words into those that aren't so much so.

Just in Case...
I think Whoopi Goldberg, as sister Mary Clarence in Sister Act 2, said it best (yes, I'm about to quote Sister Act 2): "If when you wake up in the morning you can think of nothing but writing, then you're a writer...If you wake up in the morning and you can't think of anything but singin' first, then you're supposed to be a singer." I thought I'd share, just in case today was the day you needed a reminder to follow your heart and do what you love.

Red Cross: Get a Kit - Check!
I committed myself publicly (online, in a Red Cross blog post a couple of weeks ago) to finally putting together an emergency preparedness kit for our family so that I would actually follow through and do it. And I did! Check out the process and learn how you can create your own here.
