It turns out that the holes in the screen are the perfect size for lizards to crawl through, and they do so often. During the late spring, summer, and early fall months, lizards take naps and go exploring in between the screen and the storm window. I don't like enjoy their presence, but I let the little lizards do their thing because it's cheaper than replacing the screen.
But then last week, right before we left on vacation, I came home to find two lizards engaged in what can best be described as "adult lizard behavior".

As if I didn't find lizards repulsive enough already.
