2. We also spent a day creating this photo wall. It was no 20-minute job (is there ever such a thing?!) - thanks to the number of photos, the odd size of the photo openings, the need to attach specialized wall hangers to the backs of the frames, and my insistence on hanging the three pieces level as opposed to staggered, this project did in fact take an entire day - but I love the finished product.
3. At some point a few years ago, my mom, sister, and I started the tradition of buying/making (and eating) a cake to celebrate the others' birthdays. The interesting part about the tradition is that the birthday girl doesn't have to be present. Sara and my mom were together last year on my birthday, so they bought a cake, wrote "Happy Birthday Erin" on it, and enjoyed it immensely. My mom and I were together last year on Sara's birthday, so we bought a cake, wrote "Happy Birthday Sara" on it, and sent her a picture of us indulging.
My mom and I had a craving for cake during her visit last week, but Sara's birthday is in May. Sara had, however, just undergone surgery, so we decided to expand the tradition ever so slightly.
Most delicious decision we've ever made.

Don't ever try to decorate a cake with one of those gel tubes of frosting - they're a disaster waiting to happen. |
4. Last weekend some friends of mine and I celebrated another friend's birthday at a local winery. (Visiting this winery has been on my Texas Bucket List for years so a Texas Bucket List post is in the works.) So that we could truly enjoy ourselves, my generous husband offered to serve as our chauffeur, picking everyone up at their homes and dropping us off at the winery and then picking us up at the winery and dropping everyone off at home later in the evening. He deserves a medal…and instead received nearly an hour of listening to six 30-something women sing Pitbull songs at the top of their lungs.
5. Happiness Highlights:
My adult onset fear of heights means I no longer attempt feats
like climbing rock walls. My boy can do what I can't, however,
and his bravery and strength make me prouder than anything.
Both kids love their newest Halloween decoration. |
Hallie and Grandma before we ventured into the corn maze. |
While waiting for the dads to find the sons in the corn maze, the daughters took pictures - A LOT of pictures - of each other with the moms' phones. |
A LOT of pictures. |
A lot of really hot (but somehow still smiling) kids enjoying their really large snow cones. |
Happy Friday, friends!
Sounds like a great week! Your bathroom is beautiful! Tat climbing wall looks terrifying to me. I hate heights, as well! Visiting from the link up.
