High Five for Friday (3.20.15)

1. According to the Fitbit folks, since I started using my device last July I've traveled 1,600 miles, which happens to be the distance across the Great Barrier Reef. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...

2. If you read (a week ago) Monday's post, you understand that I need this shirt.

Ok, maybe it's too much.

What if I wear it under another layer and only show it off when the calls start going downhill?

3. These last few days, spent away from the responsibilities associated with work and school, have been "just what the doctor ordered". How lovely to get away, and how lovely to return home. More on our trip and a Texas Bucket List update next week...

4. Late last week a friend put out a Facebook request for pictures of TAMU for her new website. I sent her a dozen far-from-professional-calibur photos along with permission to use any she liked, and afterwards circled back around to my favorites. These photos may look familiar - all have appeared on Chasing Roots in the past - but I decided to post them again because each one of them makes me happy to live in Texas.
"Texas is the finest portion of the globe that has ever bless my vision."
~ Sam Houston
"Let future generations understand the burden and the blessings
of freedom. Let them say we stood where duty required us to stand."
~ GHWB
"The stars at night are big and bright,
deep in the heart of Texas."
~ June Hershey
"None of us are as strong as all of us."

5. Happiness Highlights:
This one just lost his eighth tooth in a very odd, gap-y location.
My girl, showing off her muscles before swimming lessons.
Ready for kindergarten cowboy day!
My boy - #7 - is the only player not wearing a hat, gloves, pants, or
a long-sleeved shirt under his jersey. His Michigan blood runs true...
Our nectarine tree has flowers! Hallie's pretty sure we'll have
enough nectarines to feed an army by this time next week.
No, I'm lucky every day.

Happy Friday, friends!
