Flashback Friday: Show Choir Showdown

Earlier this year my sister came across a video - as in an actual VHS cassette tape - of my seventh grade show choir performing Lollipop by the Chordettes. (Sara played the video on the screen in her classroom and then recorded the video with her phone, which is why this is a video of a video.) So today, in honor of the many dance performances I will attend this year and in memory of the dancer I never was, I share with you a Friday flashback to the inaugural performance of the 1992 Van Hise Middle School Show Choir.

I'm in the front row, second from the left in a blue and black dress. If you watch for even 10 seconds you can clearly see that Hallie - at eight years old - has already left me in her dust as a dancer.

Also of note...by seventh grade I wore glasses and could barely see without them. Oddly enough, I was not wearing my glasses during this performance, which means I could just as easily have ended up on the floor in front of the risers as I could have ended up finishing the song on stage.
