High Five for Friday (3.7.25)

One

Spring Break starts today. Hallelujah.

Two

The Lads won convincingly over Brenham High School last Friday night, securing for themselves a spot in the playoffs for the third year in a row. It was such fun to sit in the stands and NOT feel like I was going to vomit or pass out (which is how I feel during most Lads games), and my boy scored a goal to boot!

We built our own charcuterie board at Floyd's Lounge
in Brenham before the game - cheers to the Lads!

Three

Senior Night truly was everything I could have hoped for, and I want to dedicate an entire post to the evening in the coming weeks. But to provide a quick recap...

On Tuesday night, we celebrated our senior Lads with a massive 7-0 victory over Montgomery. Will played one of the best games of his high school career statistically, recording two goals and one assist. All of the seniors saw playing time, and many scored or had assists. Hallie skipped dance to be there, and my besties Jenn and Mandi came as well. My friend Kristen came back to town to help - along with a few other parents - me coordinate all of the evening's events. And while the wind was INSANE (sustained 15MPH, gusts up to 50MPH), the weather was...not terrible, for once.

I don't know how we got here - the last home game of Will's high school career - so quickly, but I do know that this ride, with all its ups and downs, has been one of the best of my life. I can hardly believe that it's coming to an end, but I'm so grateful for our four years with the Lads.

We go again tonight in Huntsville to end the regular season!

Four

Will's varsity orchestra received all 1s at their UIL competition - sweepstakes, baby! They competed at 4:20pm in the afternoon, so Hallie I were able to pop in and listen to them perform before moving on with our afternoon. Just like with soccer, it's hard to believe that we're coming to the end of orchestra...when Will started playing the cello eight years ago, I thought he'd maybe last through ninth grade. I'm so glad he decided to stick with it through all of high school.

Will's first orchestra concert in 5th grade.

Happiness Highlights - Off the Pitch

My puppy nephew turned 11 last week!

I stumbled upon this pic of my SIL and her
three babies - I must have missed it when my
BIL shared it the first time - and I LOVE it.

Will has learned so much from this
man...including how to stand, apparently.

So pretty.

Everything seen here (but the flowers) was what I needed to take for
one home game...and this was just my first trip. I'm going to miss this.

This month's flowers - courtesy of the Advanced
Floral Design program at AMCHS - are gorgeous!

Happy weekend, friends!
